Which bike helmet should you buy? Compare Signal, ICE and ClearView

Which bike helmet should you buy? Start with the right fit, then choose the features for your rides. Consider Signal if you want wireless indicators, ClearView if you want a lightweight helmet with two visors, or ICE if you want two visors and ear warmers included as standard.

A helmet for everyday cycling needs to suit both your head and how you use it. The lowest price or an attractive colour is no help if the size is wrong. This buying guide compares our models using current product information and helps you choose the right version for your needs.

Signal: if indicators matter to you

Signal has a wireless handlebar remote for its indicators and integrated front and rear lights. The helmet charges via USB-C. See the Signal product page for operating instructions and available colours and sizes. Consider how you would actually use this feature on your everyday rides.

ClearView: if you want a lightweight helmet with a visor

The ClearView specifications give a weight of approximately 260 grams, and it comes in black and beige. You receive a clear visor and a dark sun visor. Ear warmers are not included as standard; the matching Winter Kit with lining and ear pieces is optional. Read the ClearView buying guide or choose your size and colour now.

ICE: if you want ear warmers included

ICE comes with two visors and removable ear warmers. These ear warmers also form the inner padding and affect the fit. See ICE with ear warmers or the ICE and ClearView comparison for differences in weight, size range and stated battery life.

How do you choose the right bike helmet size?

Measure your head circumference and compare the centimetres with the chart for your chosen model. Where ranges overlap, two sizes may be options; the actual fit determines which sits securely without pressure points. Do not automatically use the size of another helmet. Use our size chart and measuring instructions.

Choosing a helmet for an e-bike or speed pedelec

First check your vehicle type and the current helmet requirements in the country where you ride. Our product information lists ICE and ClearView as NTA 8776 models. Do not apply one model’s standard to every helmet. Our guide to e-bike and speed pedelec helmet requirements links to the relevant rules.

Frequently asked buying questions

Which bike helmet fits if I wear glasses?

ICE and ClearView have a visor, but not every frame fits underneath. Try the helmet with your own glasses and check that the visor moves freely. Read the fitting checklist for glasses wearers.

Do I need to order two visors separately?

No, ICE and ClearView include a clear visor and a dark sun visor. An extra visor is optional and must be for the correct model. See the visor buying guide.

Where can I try on a Pro Sport Lights helmet?
