How many lumens do I need for cycling?

Distinguish between lighting the road ahead and being visible to others. On unlit routes, beam shape and usable battery life matter. Compare the lighting modes and intended use as well as the maximum lumen output.

Should I choose a single light or a complete set?

Choose a set if you need both a front and a rear light. For individual lights, check which mount is included and whether it fits your handlebar, seatpost or rack. Also consider any lighting already built into your bike.

What should I check with rechargeable bike lights?

Check the charging port, charging time and battery life for each lighting mode. Compare the mount and stated water resistance too. Lights do not all use the same charging port or last equally long at maximum output.
